Maintenance Lead

Legacy is seeking a full-time Maintenance Lead to support a 144-unit property located in Whitmore Lake, MI. The Maintenance Lead is responsible for inventory control, scheduling contractors, obtaining bids, and ensuring timely completion of residential work orders. This role performs and tracks general maintenance and repair activities, prepares vacant units for occupancy, and helps maintain the property’s appearance through grounds upkeep, cleaning, trash removal, and seasonal services such as mechanical and manual snow removal. The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently and provides exceptional customer service. This position requires flexibility to work varying shifts including on-call rotations, emergency response, weekends, holidays, extended hours, and outdoor work in changing weather conditions.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED; credits or training from a technical school or college preferred
- Five or more years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficient in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, structural, and small appliance repair
- Experience with drywall repairs and painting is essential
- Extensive HVAC knowledge Certified preferred
- Certified Apartment Maintenance Technician (CAMT) a plus
- May be required to lift up to 50 pounds
- Customer Service attitude in all interactions with staff and residents
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
- Experience working in Yardi preferred
