October 2025's Message from the President

Dear WAAA Members,

As we step into fall, I’m excited to share a few important updates and opportunities within our Association:

Please join me in giving a warm welcome to Rayshaun Philips, who has recently joined our team as our new Executive Officer. Rayshaun has been made a major impact for DMAA as their Membership and Engagement Coordinator. We’re thrilled to have his energy and expertise contributing to the continued growth of our Association and support of our members.

In other news, we are looking for passionate and engaged members to join our Board of Directors. Serving on the Board is an excellent way to shape the future of our Association, advocate for our industry, and make valuable connections. We’re proud to continue our tradition of giving back through our Socktober event. This month, we’ll be collecting socks to support those in need in our community. New socks are one of the most requested items at shelters, and your contributions will make a meaningful difference. Please look out for collection details and help us exceed last year’s totals! On the legislative front, we continue to monitor important developments that impact our industry. This month, we have come to learn about legislative items being discussed with the local renters' commission. If you are interested in learning more about the new items that are in the pipeline we strongly encourage you to attend our legislative meetings. As these new pieces of legislation come to fruition we will certainly keep all members informed and provide resources to help you stay ahead of changes.
